James Gerald, former secret agent, investigates in Hastings 

Retired spy James Gerald (70) checks into Eaglehurst, a nursing home in Hastings, in order to investigate the death of his friend and colleague William Morat. His well-honed instincts tell him that there's something fishy going on behind the walls of the idyllic manor house, and indeed before long there are two more suspicious deaths among the residents. With the help of his erstwhile assistant Sheila Humphrey, James soon discovers a sinister secret that involves the nursing home's director. But the deeper James and Sheila penetrate the network of relationships at Eaglehurst, the closer they come to putting their own lives on the line.
