A Passion For Death

A serial killer has the citizens of Rome in a panic. The victims of the gruesome crimes are young men, their corpses arranged as re-creations of the Stations of the Cross - a new scene from Christ's Passion every day. The Justice Ministry has provided Commissario Daniele Varotto with the support of a bona-fide authority on religious lodges and fraternities: the man, who calls himself Matthias and lives in a Sicilian monastery, saved the Catholic Church from certain disaster just a few years ago. Joining forces with Alicia, a journalist, the two investigators stumble upon a series of unsolved child kidnappings that go back more than twenty years.
