On the Night Train

Michael Kaltenbrach, a young lawyer, is travelling to Cologne to meet with a publishing house in the hope that they will take on his short stories. As the train rattles through the night, he thinks back on the past years in his hometown of Kürren. His greatest passions are football, girls, and enjoying the nightlife. Kathrin was his first love, and he was full of hope that it would last forever, while Margarete represents his first erotic failure. Michael longs to escape the confines of an orderly life - but are he and his friend Eugen, who has come along with him, really ready for the temptations Cologne has to offer? With subtle irony, Benno Hurt gives us a story about coming of age in the 1960s.
