Snowed Under
- Harrachov, a holiday resort in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. Evy and Vera are sitting on the balcony. They would like to go skiing, but the ski lifts are shut down. Their once passionate relationship has stagnated. It all began in the winter two years ago, when, on a rapid downhill run, Vera collided with Evy and they fell in love instantly. Now they are interesting only to others. To elderly Frau Beran, their landlady; to Oliver, neglecting his wife and children, desperate to show what a great sportsman he is; to the man who rents and repairs skis. The thirteen stories in this volume constitute a sort of linked series.
Only the reader sees the connection, only the reader knows at the end what has happened behind the backs of the characters.
"Don't worry about me." Love comes to a standstill in the snow. -
