The Bewildered Romans

In order to escape the excruciating boredom of six weeks' summer holiday, Tim uses his Teletimer to travel to the era of the Roman Empire. The little time machine is working perfectly and before he knows it, Tim becomes Timotheus, who is about to be taken on as assistant to Nikodemus, the Greek tutor in a wealthy Roman household. From this point on, there are forty puzzles to solve - from broken amphoras, stolen papyrus scrolls and vanished Roman coins all the way to thermal springs shrouded in fog. It's just as well Tim has the readers to help him solve all these mystifying puzzles and make sure he gets back to the present safe and sound!
