The Garnet Book

Erlenburg, 1390: monastery life is anything but easy for wealthy merchant's son Paul; he finds it very hard to conform to the strict monastic rules. And then, to make matters even worse, he is accused of theft! He is supposed to have stolen a priceless manuscript from the library - an opulently bound volume with a red garnet gemstone set in the cover, which his own family donated to the monastery. In desperation, Paul turns to his friends Agnes, Jakob and Hannes, who already solved the mystery of The Pepper Thief (dtv junior 71178) together. But how are they meant to investigate when no one is allowed into or out of the monastery?
