Dark Green Like the Sea

At long last it’s time for the family holiday in the house-boat by the sea. But this year things start to go wrong from the very beginning. Linn’s parents quarrel because her Dad has to go back to town and her mum is really cross with him. And as if that wasn’t enough to sour a nine-year-old’s holiday mood, things go from bad to worse when Linn’s best holiday friend Smilla brings some strange new girl along with her to the seaside.

What’s going on? Why can’t anybody see how lonely Linn is? Does no one care about her feelings? Maybe what she needs is a sign from the gods—thunderbolts and hailstorms to clear the air so she get in touch with her feelings again.
