Saving an Entire World

A Jewish girl, an Arab doctor - an amazing story

New York City, late 1990s. At a family reunion, Bella Servos recalls her childhood growing up in a Jewish family in Berlin, but hardly anyone is interested in listening to her memories. Time and history have left her behind, and her daughters now live in a very different world. At the same time, her own family would not have existed if the Arab doctor Dr. Fareed had not saved Bella from deportation by the Nazis during World War II. Bella still vividly remembers the world from that time: the world of her parents, her school chums, her selfless rescuer. And of course, the world of Joost, her great love.

“Anyone who saves a single life, saves the entire world.”

- An amazing, emotional novel based on true events: the selfless rescue of a Jewish family by the Egyptian physician, Dr. Mohamed Helmy in Berlin, during the Third Reich
- The story of a love without boundaries and a past that changed the course of the present
