Joseph Haydn

In celebration of the bicentenary of Joseph Haydn’s death on May 31st, 2009

Joseph Haydn is one of the most important 18th century composers, and, alongside Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven, is considered one of the founders of Viennese Classicism. In this powerfully told novelisation, music historian Matthias Henke portrays the life and times of this supremely talented and influential composer. Haydn is described as a companionable man, uncomplicated and single-minded, whose personality is reflected in his music.
