»My greatest hope is that you are happy when you think of me.«This is the first novel ever published about the lives and deaths of the women and men involved with the so-called Red Orchestra. They all met the same violent fate, but their paths to that point were quite varied despite the similarity of their deaths. Sabine Friedrich’s narrative is not about heroes from some distant time, but about the decisive and searching, desperate and confident, outraged and loving individuals who found themselves compelled to respond and react to the circumstances that surrounded them. Just like everyone else. Most Germans acquiesced to what was happening around them, never even once trying to intervene. But some did.
  • The first novel ever published about the lives and deaths of the women and men involved with the Red Orchestra.
  • Two more novels are in preparation, one on the “Kreisau Circle” involving Helmuth James von Moltke, and one on “Operation Valkyrie” involving Claus von Stauffenberg.
