Eckart Lohse, born in 1963, studied Political Science, Modern History, and Romance Philology in Bonn. He wrote his dissertation in Paris and Munich about France and the division of Germany in the 1950s. He was an editor at the FAZ; and from 2003 to 2014, a leading political correspondent for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. Afterwards he returned to the parliamentary editorial office of the FAZ, which he has been leading since 2018.
