Everyone Helps
Non-Fiction Children
A family-size pack of confidence
Yes, some truly terrible things are happening in the world: war and catastrophes everywhere, not to mention the climate crisis. These concerns don’t altogether pass children by. We don’t want to give them a false sense of security, so how do we talk to them about it? Rike Drust has the answer: Look at the people helping! This book introduces us to 25 people, who contribute to making the world a better place. From the paediatrician in a crisis-torn region to the rubbish bin collector and the hospital clown we learn what they like about their work, why they chose their profession and what sometimes bothers them. Using the same warmth and wit of his previous book ‘Everyone’s Disabled!’, Horst Klein gives the people in this book faces and character.
- Honest, funny, heart-warming – a book about the many opportunities we have to make the world a little better
- Authentic: over 1,500 people contributed stories of their work for this book
- Funny: lots of little marginal scenes and heaps of insider knowledge
- Inspiring: an eye-opening source for lively discussions
Rike Drust writes whatever suits her and pops into her head, including columns, books, advertsing copy, and articles. She lives with her family in Hamburg.
Horst Klein, born in 1965, spent his formative years in East Frisia before moving to Krefeld in 1989 to pursue his studies in visual communication. Before he could do that though, he had to look up Krefeld in an atlas. He still lives there today with his wife and two children, where he works as an illustrator and a graphic designer.
