Bastian, Or How to Build a Rocket Out of a Battered Old Citroen
From the fringes of outer space straight to the heart
Bastian has two birthday wishes: a telescope and for his father not to forget it’s his birthday. But Bastian can’t say out loud what he wants, because he hasn’t spoken since his mother died. He doesn’t get the telescope, but his father takes him to the observatory, where Bastian looks into the depths of outer space – and finds a story. That very night he writes it down in his sketchbook. It’s about a boy named Buzz, who launches into space on a rocket he built himself.
