On Germany’s only island in the open sea, a live adventure à la Stephen King is taking place in an abandoned hotel. Very quickly, mysterious things begin to occur, and the “Horror of Heligoland” becomes a viral hit. While Chief Inspector Leandra Kern came to Heligoland from Hamburg in the hope of fulfilling a lifelong dream in the seclusion of the island, Inspector Maxi Adler has reluctantly returned to her place of birth under massive pressure. As events around the hotel become increasingly scary, these two very different women are forced to work together. Especially when life starts to imitate fiction and they discover that the murder mystery has become a real-life murder …
