A bridge for eternity
London, 1749: newly widowed clothier Juliana Hamley has to fight tooth and nail to keep her shop open on London Bridge. Business is bad, she’s up to her ears in debt, and the construction of a new bridge across the river Thames threatens the existence of all the other established shops as well. Desperate, she enters into the smuggling business, ably assisted by the crafty street urchin Alder. But danger lurks everywhere, and even London Bridge itself is hiding a dark secret.
