The Thieves of Troy

The ruins of Troy, 1873: brothers Jannis and Nikos witness an audacious gold theft on Heinrich Schliemann’s archaeological excavation site. But what can they do about it? Should they inform Schliemann? They can’t do that, because he’d chase the whole family off the site if he got wind of the unofficial test-of-courage contest the brothers staged there, and that would mean their father losing his job. So there’s only one thing for it – they’ll have to catch the thieves and retrieve the treasure on their own. But the thieves know they are being watched…

  • a riveting story about the ‘father of all treasure hunters’ – featuring an appendix on Homer, the Siege of Troy, Heinrich Schliemann and Priam’s treasure.
