A gamekeeper and a refugee boy on the trail of a myth
A mountain region in the southern part of Germany, 1630: The young boy Johann and his Calvinist family are trying to build a new life for themselves in a remote village, which is strangely empty of children. Johann is wondering what happened. Who or what killed two of the children, and where did all the others disappear to? Was it the “Wild Hunter”, a legendary wolfman, who is said to be roaming the densely forested mountains? At the same time, the taciturn gamekeeper Hildner arrives, a rough ex-mercenary sent by the margrave to bring peace to the area. When Johann glimpses the Wild Hunter with his own eyes, the gamekeeper and the boy are thrown together. They set off on the trail of the nebulous beast, finding themselves face to face with unknown horrors.

Tim Sünderhauf was born in Erlangen and trained as a bookseller. He studied History and German before becoming a freelance journalist. He has worked as an editor for a film magazine for many years before changing to PR. 'The Wolves Among Us' is his debut novel.
