Reindeer Rarely Come Alone. Our Year with Santa Claus
When Santa Claus turns everything upside down
It all begins on the first day of Christmas, December 25th. The Wetekamps’ doorbell chimes, and Santa Claus is standing outside. He is supposed to stay here for one year, he explains. The gentlemen in the heavenly Christmas office have decided this, and no, there is nothing anyone can do about it, otherwise there will be no Christmas presents anywhere around the world next year. Furthermore, his stay must be kept strictly secret. From this point on, nothing goes as usual over the next twelve months. Reindeer graze in the garden, the large sleigh is hidden in the garage, and soon Santa Claus’ helpers show up: the nocturnal elves who hold team meetings in the living room. Can all of this be concealed from curious neighbors, relatives, and friends? And can the Wetekamps themselves survive this experience? Of course, they can! Anyone who doubts this need only peek under the tree on Christmas.
