The Flood, the Mud, and Then Back to Good
It’s raining and raining and raining
At first, everything is just fine in the town on the river. Then it rains. And it doesn’t stop. A short time later, the river rises over its banks, and the people must save themselves by moving to higher ground or climbing onto the roofs. And then the electrical power fails. Rescue workers and helpers are working around the clock. As the water slowly retreats, the extent of the damage becomes visible. Many people help to re-build the town, and at the end, they have a celebration.
In detailed panoramic pictures, Bille Weidenbach tells the dramatic story of a flood and its consequences and in doing so, she also shows what needs to be done to be better prepared for extreme weather events.
- Meticulously detailed pictures in picture-puzzle style
- To foster environmental awareness
