A white deer, a dark prophecy and a village turned upside down
In Fehrdorf, everybody seems to know where they belong. Only Ingo and Lara, who recently moved with their children from the big city to this small village in the German countryside, are struggling. Especially Ingo finds the commute to his start-up in Hamburg exhausting. When he hits a white deer in his car one evening, it disrupts the balance of the whole village. Because, as the legend goes, anyone who kills a white deer only has one more year to live. And suddenly the village hunter, the role model female farmer and the last remaining members of an eco-collective are also wondering whether countryside living really makes them happy.
A car accident triggers upheaval in the village, and leaves everybody asking questions: are we in the right place, and what does it mean to live a good life?
