No Land more Beautiful - Father’s War, My Nazis and German Culture
A reflection on identity and memory and a call to engage!
Peter Jordan, born in 1967, describes himself as someone who thinks about WW II and the Shoah every single day. As an actor and public figure, he continues to grapple with his relationship to German culture - a struggle that began in his youth, when everything “German” felt suspicious, stale, and burdened by history.
But the birth of his child changed everything. Suddenly, the need arose to name and pass on what is one’s own. This is a deeply personal narrative that speaks directly to our times. As the question of what Germany is (and what it might become) is increasingly contested by far-right movements and debated internationally, Jordan offers a fearless and intimate response.
