Luzie’s Mad World II – the Guinea Pig’s Luck
Luzie is nine years old, has a big heart and a head full of crazy ideas. She loves animals more than anything—most of all Herkules, her guinea pig. He is as soft as cotton wool, really cuddly and just a little bit magical! Life would be just perfect if it wasn’t for Leon next door and his mean tomcat Dracula, who lies in wait outside Luzie’s apartment every morning hoping to ambush Herkules. So on the day of the school outing to the zoo, Luzie decides that it’s safer to take her beloved pet with her.
But she’s reckoned without Dracula’s cunning. The nasty cat has invited himself along on the outing – hiding in Leon’s capacious sports bag! So there’s guaranteed to be no shortage of excitement when they get to their destination. But Luzie wouldn’t be Luzie if she didn’t manage to make it all turn out well—and indeed take a turn for the better – in the end.
• The second volume of this entertaining series is just as chock-a-block with wit and charm as the first.
