A woman finds release from self-deception

Day after day, Rivi Greenfeld watches the hustle and bustle of the street from the comfort of her apartment. But Neve Tzedek has recently become one of the hippest neighbourhoods in Tel Aviv, and, soon enough, a young entrepreneur shows up with plans to demolish the building and redevelop. Rivi is told she has to move out, leaving behind her memories and her life. When all resistance becomes futile, she begins to write letters to anyone who has ever meant something to her. She writes about the powerful men, who once fell for her, about the many more who harassed her – and reflects on how alone she is now, at the end of her life. Through writing, she finds a way to reframe the story of her life.

  • A bittersweet tale of a woman's mistakes and illusions throughout her life
  • Lizzie Doron is an outstanding and distinctive narrator who instils personal experience with universal significance, condensing it into poignant, emotionally charged stories
