Being There When Pets Die – A Vet's Tale
General Non-Fiction, Self-Help / Parenting
When beloved pets pass on
No one likes to think about how the lifespan of their beloved dog or stubborn cat is shorter than that of a human being. But it’s an issue all pet owners have to wrangle with. What if your beloved pet has reached the end of the road? Should you put them to sleep? And when? Who makes that decision? Who should be there when it happens?
This book gives readers tips and information to help them make decisions when their pet’s life is nearing its end. What is medically possible? What are the ethical options? Putting down an animal isn’t easy. Veterinarian Vera Müller-Skuplik takes the issue seriously – while also writing about the intimate and at times curious moments that happen in the relationships between people and animals.
- A practical and compassionate guide for everyone who wants to be present when their beloved pet makes their final journey
- In veterinary practices there is no time for this subject though there is a huge need: this book closes the gap
