Care workers on strike, retirement homes closed – who’s dreaming of a peaceful Christmas ?!
Just a few days before Christmas, someone rings Annett’s doorbell and drops off a 93-year-old gentleman, Mr. Jankowski. They’ve never met before - and yet, Annett's family is expected to take care of him. That has to be a mistake, hasn’t it?
However, the government’s emergency directive has decreed that complete strangers must take care of the elderly as care workers are on strike and every retirement home is forced to close.
After the first shock, Annett actually wants to help, but having this new house guest quickly overtaxes the whole family. It soon becomes clear: Mr. Jankowski cannot stay. But where can he go?

Antje Huhs was born in Bremen in 1977. She started writing at a young age, writing stories in her primary school notebook, because she had always more words than listeners. Since graduating, she has written for a variety of television formats in various roles. ‘Home Closed Until Further Notice’ is her debut novel.
