Almost the Best Wizards

Everyone knows that great magicians go to the prestigious, traditional schools of magic. But where do magicians who are more … average … go? The ones with the not-so-impressive powers? For Niko, who can see (but not hear) into the past, and the others Omegas, the MGZ is ready and waiting! It may be a little run-down, but it’s here that they’ll learn to master their unconventional magic powers – in between dodging liquorice rain and tartan fried eggs. If they can work together, and keep their sense of humour, they might even outwit the snobs from the Merlineum in the end.

  • Fantastic dry humour and likeable characters
  • Appeals to boys and girls alike
  • Start of a promising series by the winner of the German Youth Literature Prize
  • Second volume in preparation
