Carotto the zonkey is feeling glum. Luckily, Grimm the bookseller knows what’s wrong: Carotto needs a holiday! Without further ado, the pair leap into the ‘Blue Wonder’ and set off . But Carotto can’t quite get the hang of maps, so instead of arriving at the beach, they fi nd themselves on a rollercoaster adventure across Europe, before they finally feel the sand between their toes (and hooves).

Stephanie Schneider, born in 1972, studied Education and Art at the Fine Arts Academy in Braunschweig. Since 2004 she has been pursuing her childhood dream to work primarily as an author. She lives in Hanover with her husband and two daughters.

Stefanie Scharnberg

Stefanie Scharnberg was born in Hamburg in 1967 and completed a bookseller’s apprenticeship in her home town. She then traveled to Florence to study Painting. On her return to Germany in 1992, she resumed her work as bookseller and illustrator. She now lives in Freiburg with her family.
