Mila Weiss, from the Special Investigation Unit 4, has travelled deep into the mountains to confront a phantom from her past: Johannes Toblach. But shortly after her arrival, a body is found in the trees, trapped in a net of ropes. While Mila is aksing herself whether she is the hunter or the hunted, she nevertheless seems to close in on her target – until she disappears without trace. The other members of the team immediately set out to find her coming up against a village where the only thing more dense than the fog is the silence. The team becomes embroiled in a gruesome game of a serial killer hiding out in the darkness of the forest. And he clearly has Mila at his mercy ...
