From a grand hotel to a mountain pasture: a magical love story
Berchtesgaden, 1950s: Hanni, a young woman from Cologne, is a ‘summer swallow’, working for a season as a maid at the world-famous Hotel Gruber. Celebrities and moneyed aristocrats fill its ornate halls. At first, Hanni fi nds it hard to adjust to the eccentric Bavarians and their strange dialect. Her cheerful roommate, Annamirl, helps her settle in, showing Hanni her beautiful homeland. Soon, Hanni falls in love with the beauty of the mountains … And with woodcarver Andreas.
