In the Shadow of the Swastika – Childrens Lives under Nazism
The fears and hopes of ten children living in a totalitarian state
Children begin to ask questions about Nazism at an early age. Yet, how can we convey the horror of those times to them? Their stories are accompanied by illustrations, photos and factual accounts which explain the historical background in a way suitable for children. This book off ers a very tangible narrative of how children dealt with persecution and exclusion, with war and fl ight, but also with propaganda within their own family at that time. It can help today’s children learn much about moral courage, bravery and despair.

- Compelling stories complemented by historical photos and documents
