Death in Bordeaux (vol. I)
In vino veritas, so they say; in wine there’s truth. But this wine brings death instead. Martin Bongers can hardly believe it: only yesterday he bade farewell to Gaston, a vintner in the Bordeaux region, and now his best friend is lying dead – killed by a falling pile of pallets in a warehouse. Supposedly it’s an accident, but Martin’s instincts tell him otherwise. Who followed him all the way home to Frankfurt and why was the wine Gaston gave him stolen? Martin goes straight back to France, where it seems he’s suddenly no longer welcome. The only one who takes his questions seriously is Charlotte, the daughter of the neighbouring vintner.
