An island on the hunt for a murderer
Nicole Stappenbek is reluctant to organise a reunion with her former youth group on the island of Amrum, where they last got together in autumn 1998. Nicole didn’t really like the participants back then, but she’s curious to see what’s become of them.
However, any pleasure she gets from seeing them again is abruptly squashed when one guy is found dead hanging upside-down in the resort toilets. Inspector Stappenbek immediately orders her colleague Thies Detlefsen to come to the island to investigate the case. When another participant goes missing, the island descends into fear. All the clues are pointing back into the past, to that autumn nearly 27 years ago. And Nicole is starting to feel uneasy …

Krischan Koch was born in Hamburg in 1953, where he works as a film critic for a German broadcast station and a major weekly newspaper. He and his wife live in Hamburg and on the North Sea island of Amrum.
