North Sea Shrimps

Summer is fast approaching in the tiny North Frisian seaside community of Fredenbüll, and as usual village policeman Thies Detlefsen is planning to take his family to the neighbouring island of Amrum for their annual vacation. But this year it looks as if it won’t be much of a family holiday, because sightings of a dead body are reported at various places all over the island – a body that seems to disappear again just as quickly. Could it be that the overheated imagination of various sun-scorched tourists is playing tricks on them? But when several regulars of the exclusive fish restaurant Kombüse meet their death in mysterious ways, it can only mean one thing: there’s a serial killer at large on the island! Holidays or not, Thies’s criminological knowledge is urgently called for…

The second volume of the crime comedy series starring the endearingly offbeat village policeman Thies Detlefsen, shot through with dry North German charm.
