While looking for a holiday job, ten-year-old friends Polly and Frieda come across an advert: an old lady is looking for someone to care for her cat while she’s on holiday. Polly and Frieda are thrilled – aft er all, they love animals more than anything else. They immediately set up the Pet-Sitters’ Club and off er their services around the neighbourhood. Walking dogs and petting cats and getting paid for it – life doesn’t get better than this. But things don’t turn out quite as they expect – in fact, it’s quite an adventure!

Ulrike Rylance

Ulrike Rylance was born in 1968 and studied English and German in Leipzig and London. She was an assistant teacher in Wales and Manchester and also taught German in London. In 2001 she moved to Seattle with her husband and her two daughters.
